First time irrigation scheme covers a geographical area of approximately 60,000ha
This scheme is being constructed in three distinct phases with Stage 1 having a command area of 24,000ha.
The scheme will include a main headrace to convey bulk water across the district delivered to farm turnouts in a fully piped network, under pressure.
Opus was engaged to initially complete and assess a number of concept designs for the piped network liaising with the headrace design process. Thereafter undertaking the specimen design process on the selected option including hydraulic modelling, geotechnical investigations, transient analysis studies, HAZOP studies, mechanical engineering, electrical controls, and the structural design.
In parallel with the design activities Opus are also managing the procurement process for the secondary distribution system.
