Dr Kevin Thompson has advised Opus International Consultants Limited of his intention to retire as Chief Executive with effect from 30 September 2010.

At Opus International Consultant’s Annual Meeting today, Chairman, Kerry McDonald said that 2009 had been a challenging but ultimately successful year for Opus, in spite of the serious recession in many economies.

The Minister of Transport, Steven Joyce, will join an array of Auckland dignitaries including Local Government Minister Rodney Hide and the Mayor of Auckland, John Banks, to officially open a state of the art new Newmarket train station at a special celebration hosted by the Auckland Regional Transport Authority (ARTA) and KiwiRail on Thursday. Customers will begin using the new station from Monday 18th January when train services resume in Auckland after a three week period to enable redevelopment work to occur around the rail network.

Opus International Consultants Ltd, Beca Infrastructure Ltd, Aurecon New Zealand Ltd and Fletcher Construction Company Ltd, have worked together to win the 2009 New Zealand Engineering Excellence Transportation Infrastructure Award for Auckland’s popular Northern Busway.
Opus International Consultants have won the 2009 New Zealand Engineering Excellence Building and Construction Award for their work creating a foundation system for the Gisborne Police Station.
